1. To delight children
2. To teach children to read well

We know that children learn best when they are having fun. So we design lessons formatted as games. They engage children through sight, sound, action, repetition, reinforcement, and encouragement.

With Reading Success programs,
children stay on task longer, they remember longer, and they are eager to progress to the next lesson.

Our software has a no-fail approach. By this we mean that when a child is learning one skill, the child cannot go on to the next skill until s/he has mastered the first skill. The child always experiences success. Children begin to perceive themselves as intelligent. They think that learning is fun and that academic achievement is desirable up to and including college.

Reading Success is a motivational
program as much as a reading program. Not only do children feel good about themselves as they learn to read, but parents and educators feel good about their children in seeing them succeed.

  1. What method does Reading Success use?
It is phonics based, which means that children learn to hear the sounds that letters make and how to connect them, or blend them, to form words.

  2. What makes Reading Success stand out from the crowd of reading programs?
It begins at the beginning with pre-reading skills that some
programs skip. It identifies and arranges reading skills
sequentially so that all essential steps are presented in an
    easy-to-understand format.

  3. My child is having trouble learning. Will Reading Success help?
Reading Success was designed by distinguished educator Mary Smithson Craighead, a pioneer in effective methods of teaching reading to children for whom traditional methods did not work. Reading Success is effective in maximizing the potential of all children—advantaged and disadvantaged, fast learners and slow learners.

  4. Do I have to sit with my child while s/he is using the software?
If your child knows basic computer techniques (point, click, drag), once you set up the software on your computer and
introduce your child to the homepage, the program will lead your child through all the learning activities. This frees parents to
    engage in other activities.

  5. How do I know which CD to purchase to start my child at the right level?
CD 1 or 2: Your child does not know letters, numbers, or sounds. CD 3 or 4: Your child is beginning to recognize letters,
numbers, and sounds but cannot form words.

CD 5 or 6: Your child is reading easy words and simple sentences.
If you are not sure: Purchase a CD that is one step below where you think your child is functioning.
The complete program on a single disk: This disk will walk your child through the entire program at his/her own pace. This approach ensures no skill gaps and a solid reading foundation.

  6. Do you have other educational products?
